Women of Toronto was established in 2021 by Toronto singer-songwriter Chèlle. After discovering Spotify playlists for local artists that were heavily male-dominated, Chèlle set out to diversify the music scene by creating a platform for female and female-identifying artists in Toronto and the surrounding areas. Through a monthly playlist and live events with networking opportunities, Women of Toronto has cultivated a space to elevate up-and-coming artists and create the change needed in the Toronto music industry.
